What to Do When You're Matched with an Investor Lead

What to do after receiving an investor lead through Privy and how to become their chosen agent.

You've been matched with a potential investor through Privy’s AgentMatch system. Know what to expect, how to stand out, and how to deliver value as a Certified Privy Pro Agent from the first interaction.


How the Investor Matching Process Works

When an investor joins the Privy Network (often through one of our lending, wholesale, or title partners), they complete an intake form outlining:

  • Investment goals and experience

  • Budget and target markets

  • Preferred property types and strategies

Once complete, here’s what happens:

  1. Privy sends the investor a list of three Certified Privy Pro Agent profiles
    These profiles are selected from the first three agents who accepted the lead match alert.

  2. Investor reviews and selects one agent to work with
    They’ll see your photo, bio, brokerage info, and any social or branding links included in your Privy profile.

  3. Selected agent is notified and expected to follow up promptly
    From there, it’s up to you to build the relationship and guide them toward their next deal.

How to Be the Agent They Choose

Investors are looking for agents who understand investment strategy and move fast. Here’s how to give yourself the best chance:

  1. Complete and optimize your Privy Pro Agent Profile
    Make sure your headshot, bio, and social links are current and professional. Speak directly to investors in your summary.

  2. Respond quickly to match alerts
    Only the first three agents to accept the match request will be shown to the investor. Timeliness is critical.

  3. Prepare for immediate outreach
    Once matched, reach out the same day with a short, personalized message or offer to schedule a quick intro call.


After You’ve Been Chosen

If the investor selects you from the match:

  1. Reach out to introduce yourself
    Send a concise, professional message. Reference their investment focus and let them know you’re ready to help source deals.

  2. Add them as a client in Privy
    This allows you to assign saved searches, track their activity, and send automated deal alerts tailored to their criteria.

  3. Set up searches based on their buy box
    Use the information from their intake form or your intro call to set accurate filters in Privy. Save and assign the search to the investor.

  4. Start sending value
    Use Privy’s LiveCMA™ and Investment Comps to deliver thoughtful, data-backed deal recommendations. Focus on ROI and speed to close.

  • Accept the lead match alert as quickly as possible

  • Confirm your Privy Pro profile is fully optimized

  • Reach out to the investor once selected
